Health Sciences Librarian

  Duties and Responsibilities:

 Health sciences librarian collect and organize medical information. Librarians select and acquire books, journals, and other library material.  They organize this information into collections and develop catalogs for access and provide reference assistance to patrons.  They coordinate and control budgets and supervise library technicians.

Salary:   $20,000 - $30,000 (Library Technicians) 

Education:

  Students need to take challenging high school courses in information management, science, math, and English. Health Science Librarians should earn an undergraduate degree in one of the life sciences and must earn a master's degree in library science from a program that is accredited by the American Library Association.  Some library science graduate programs offer specialized courses in health science librarianship.

  I think I wouldn’t want to be a health sciences librarian because it seems boring and I don’t find it interesting.

   Health science librarians work in a variety of places such as the library of a health organization, a pharmaceutical company, health information centers, and medical schools. Librarians are responsible for finding the most suitable resources, cataloging those materials so they can be found easily, and helping users find what they need. They are expert at searching specialized databases and the Internet. Many produce web pages and other guides to finding health-related information resources. The librarian's position can be full-time or part-time, the latter often true in small organizations. In larger libraries, librarians often supervise library assistants and other librarians.

Educational requirements:

 Health science librarian should take high school courses in biology, algebra, computer skills, chemistry, government, psychology, sociology, typing, data processing, English, office procedures, health occupations/medical professions education, foreign languages, anatomy, history, and literature.

  Average salary:  $58,000

my opinion:

well I dont think I want to be a health science librarian, because Im not interested in working as a librarian.
