Duties
and responsibilities:
You will
improve your job prospects if you also have relevant work experience. Some courses
include work placements or you could contact your local university or NHS
Trust's medical photography department to arrange a visit or some work
shadowing.
Salary:
$20,700 and $26,800 a
year
Experienced can
be up to $33,000- $39,000
Education:
High school
students contemplating medical illustration as a career should take a college
preparatory program with as much emphasis on art and science as possible.
The majority
of medical illustrators in the profession have a master's degree from an
accredited two-year graduate program in medical illustration. There are
currently four programs in the United States and one in Canada that are
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP). Each program accepts 16 or fewer students each year, so
entrance into the schools is very competitive.
Reflection: I think it sounds like fun and I would
want to be one. It sounds very interesting and they also get paid very good
well if u get a good education u will get a good paid.
